You may not have considered starting a podcast as a marketing strategy, but it can be an excellent way to reach your target market. In this article, we’ll discuss the benefits of using podcasts and how you can use them to sell your products or services.
You want someone’s attention for 20 minutes, you give them something relevant and engaging in exchange. You do this by providing value with every episode of the podcast through interviews, how-to articles, discussions on topics related to your industry or niche topic (expertise), etcetera. By being helpful and showing potential customers why they should purchase from you rather than a competitor, you are giving them an incentive to buy what you have to offer!
How podcasts can be used as an advertising platform:
Podcasting is not just about gaining new listeners; it\’s also about building relationships that lead directly to conversions. The first step towards success when it comes to selling products/services via podcast ads is understanding who your target audience is and what they want.
When you have a podcast, you are in your target market’s ears for 20 to 60 minutes. This is intimate, one-on-one time with no interruptions or competition for their attention. You can create personal (PERSONAL!) relationships with your audience in a way that the written word never could! The intimacy can be used both as an opportunity to educate potential customers about products/services while also showing them how it will improve their lives personally; thus building trust between the buyer and seller. When people feel like they know who YOU are – not just what you\’re selling – then chances of conversion increase dramatically!
A good example of this is Gary Vee on his show The GaryVee Audio Experience. He talks to his audience members about things like financial advice, travel tips, and even shares some of his personal experiences with brand deals.
Bottom Line: Podcasting is a great way for businesses to build trust in their customer base, convert sales prospects into loyal customers by educating them on why they should choose that company’s products/services over competitors\’. They can also be used as an advertising platform – providing potential customers with value while subtly mentioning the product or service being offered at all times.
*Important Note*: It\’s crucial NOT TO talk too much about your own business during the podcast; otherwise you risk sounding like you\’re just trying to sell people something! Be sure to provide valuable content to your customers, and they will buy from you.
