The Power of a Quiz in your eLearning course.

You have seen the Quiz App in your Builderall back office, but how do you use it to your advantage?

Quizzes are a great way to learn with ease and without having to watch or read everything.

They are also a great way to build your user’s confidence in your product.

When done right, quizzes can be quite engaging, too. They have a high learning value and can be integrated into any type of course or training program.

But there is an important caveat: you need to do it right. Don’t do quizzes just for the sake of doing them. If your quiz doesn’t improve your users’ learning or experience, their confidence in you or their perception of your product won’t be successful enough for you as well as for them.

Benefits of Quizzes

A lot of people are familiar with quizzes, and they are often seen as a type of testing tool. However, you can use quizzes in your eLearning course too. Quizzes add an extra dimension to the learning process.

They are an effective way to identify the weak areas in your courses and make sure learners get their tasks done right.

Here are some of the benefits of quizzes in eLearning courses:

  • Quizzes can be used for self-assessment at any time during the course by asking students to answer questions in a short time (which is sometimes called \”on-the spot\” assessment). It is one of the best ways for learners to demonstrate their knowledge and skills (and it helps them understand what they got wrong).
  • It encourages learners to increase their self-assessment skills. A lot of those who take our online test would never have done so if we had not used quizzes . That is because they don\’t remember all the content from the previous lesson, but their main objective here is to gain better knowledge about that particular material.
  • It lets you assess what students are learning without having them actually do anything. Q&A type quizzes can help with this problem because they allow you to see how much improvement has been made by learners so far in terms of understanding concepts, answering questions.
  • It also helps you ensure that students do not just memorize information and then forget it, but that they implement it correctly as well as quickly enough when given a chance.
  • Quizzes have a lot of advantages over other kinds of tests: they’re flexible: you can do more than one quiz if you like; they take less time than class tests; and they can be done on mobile devices.

Secret tips to create appealing and successful Quizzes

There are two types of quizzes:

Simple quiz questions and advanced quiz questions.

Quiz questions can either be binary (yes or no) or multi-choice. You can also use question types like multiple choice, true/false, and open-ended.

Quizzes with simple questions are useful for learners who have a limited amount of time to complete them and want to go through the learning process quickly without drowning in the details. However, you may find that learners with more time don’t really care about knowing the answer to a particular question and prefer to memorize it rather than actually answering it.

On the other hand, learners who have a lot of free time do want to know the answer to a question and would appreciate an easier way—quiz answers are usually much shorter than quiz questions. For example, if your goal is to get students ready for an exam in 2 hours (and there’s only 1 hour left), you may want simple answers. Note that this isn\’t necessarily a bad thing! A short answer is often better than longer ones because short answers provide very concrete examples which lead students through the concept rather than having them memorize an entire module.

More importantly, using simple questions allows you to avoid asking detailed explanations or lengthy answers.

Now whether you are using simple or advanced quiz methods, the quiz is an essential part of any online learning course. It’s a great tool to test your students’ knowledge and it also helps to provide incentives for them to pay attention and use their brains.

There are several types of Quiz questions. Let me discuss them quickly:

True or False

The student needs to determine if the statement is true or false. This is the simplest question type.

Multiple Choice

The student must choose a single correct answer from several alternatives. This question can be repeated by using different sentences to ensure that the answer was not quessed.

Multiple Response

The user must select all the correct answers from the list. Questions of this type are more difficult than multiple choice.

Short Answer

With this one, there is no choice, but to engage in writing physically. The person will need to understand the topic well to be able to succeed in the answers.

Long Text

The student will be required to write a freestyle paragraph. Make sure that the student knows what is expected with regards to the word count.
